Assistant Professor

Alana Dillette is an Assistant Professor in the L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at San Diego State University. Originally from the islands of The Bahamas, she has years of experience working on sustainable tourism development initiatives in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism for the country. In the Payne school, she teaches undergraduate students in the core leadership curriculum which is focused on leadership theory, but more importantly practical experiences with industry professionals. Dr. Dillette is passionate about diversity and inclusion in the hospitality and tourism industry and is currently conducting research on racial, ethnic and social justice issues facing the industry. Alana is also involved in many professional and academic organizations where she has served in some leadership positions.
